I will say this was one trip that we looked forward to for the whole year and it went by faster then any other vacation we've been on.
The trip going was only easy because we were excited to go. That however was the ONLY easy thing about it. Our excitement to get back to Colorado was the only thing that kept us going. We started out taking the bus to the airport. Very convenient since the stop is not even a 5 minute walk from where we live. So we drove our luggage down and then Nate went back up and parked our car. So this actually happened to be Caden's first time on a bus! (and it was a purple bus for those of you who have already heard this from Morgan :)
Every thing went fine for the most part. We got to the airport with less than an hour but there was no wait for security or anything at the Korean airport and we didn't have to wait to board. We had about a 10 hour flight from Korea to San Francisco and then we were to have a 2 hour layover there and then on to Denver. Morgan didn't sleep much on the first flight until the very end. It was difficult because by this time it was our night and landing in California in the morning of the same day we had just gone through. (reliving the same day isn't fun and is very tiring.) By the end of the flight and having to wake Morgan up it wasn't so much fun anymore...

Caden, however, did great on his first airplane trip!We arrived on time to the San Francisco airport. We were able to get through customs and recheck luggage quickly and back to the next terminal. However, this is where it took a turn for the worst. Our 2 hour layover slowly increased to 3. Then 4. then 5........until 6 hours later we were able to board the plane to which we had to wait an additional hour. We left the airport at the time we were supposed to arrive in Denver. Our whole plan of letting the kids take short naps to help with the time difference turned in to just letting them sleep since we were exhausted as well. Only...Morgan was wide awake and wanted to run around and play. What do you do for 6 hours! Needless to say Morgan slept the next flight. The day took a toll on us as made it Denver finally. We were greeted by Grandma and Grandpa Layton 2 of my sisters (Jenny and Kathy) my brother Marty and of course Gavin who had a sign for Morgan. It was fun to see them there. It didn't take long for Morgan and Gavin to get reacquainted. By the time we were at the baggage claim they were jumping and talking and helping each other with one of the suitcases. (we've sure missed him). We then got to my parents house and was welcomed by the rest of my family and with food :)
Once back in Denver of course sleep was hard to get trying to adjust to a different time zone and different day altogether. But it slowly got better and even Caden started sleeping through the night. Morgan did the best and was sleeping through the night on the first night.
GINGERBREAD HOUSES
One of the traditions in my family around Christmas is to make gingerbread houses, decorate them with TONS of candy and then go caroling and give them away to people that we know.
Morgan was able to help Grandma Layton mix the batter up. Something that both of them just really enjoyed doing together.

It's always been a fun tradition and the kids enjoy it quite a bit.
